Children’s Book God Made Me Good Named ACP 2026 Resource of the Year

BALTIMORE, MD — The Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP) is proud to announce that God Made Me Good, written by Hannah Saeger, illustrated by Tammie Lyon, and published by Pauline Books & Media, has been named “Resource of the Year” in its annual “Excellence in Publishing Award” competition.

The judges praised God Made Me Good as “a sweet affirmation of an important truth.” They especially noted how the book engages all five senses and shows children concrete ways they can physically help others, making its message both accessible and actionable for young readers.

Stretch Out Your Hand: Reflections on the Healing Ministry of Jesus, written by Amy Ekeh and published by Liturgical Press, took second-place, while third place went to Indispensable: A Catholic Guide to Welcoming Persons with Disabilities, written by Mark Bradford and published by Word on Fire Ministries.

God Made Me Good had taken first place in the “Children’s Books: Picture Books” category of the 2026 Excellence in Publishing Awards. Stretch Out Your Hand was the first-place winner in “Scripture: Pastoral Resources,” while Indispensable took first place in “Resources for Ministry.”

The Resource of the Year is judged by a three-person panel. They evaluate the first-place winners of the Excellence in Publishing Awards in 19 different categories including Music based on eight criteria that address audience appeal, potential impact on Catholic thinking, action, and faith/spirituality, and whether it would be a Catholic “classic” or best seller.

The Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP) is a membership organization of Catholic publishers, those who provide services to Catholic publishers, and individuals who work with Catholic publishers. The ACP provides opportunities for members to further the Catholic publishing industry, promote Catholic publishing and reading, and engage those they interact with, including retailers, pastoral leaders, individual customers, and staff.
