Liturgical Press Announces Staff Promotions

Liturgical Press has promoted several staff members in a realignment of responsibilities intended to strengthen company performance post-pandemic. The changes significantly enhance all publication areas and expand the digital marketing focus of the company.

Hans Christoffersen, long-time publisher for academic and monastic titles, is now editorial director of Liturgical Press with responsibility for all books and periodicals except Give Us This Day. Christoffersen leads the acquisition of new work for existing readers and new audiences.

John Kyler, formerly liturgy and music editor, is now general editor for parish resources. An author, editor, composer and musician, Kyler acquires pastoral books and manages parish programs and periodicals.

Tara Durheim is now marketing director, having served the past five years as associate publisher for academic and monastic titles. Durheim oversees a newly reconstituted marketing department and is leading an expanded focus on digital marketing.

Michelle Verkuilen, formerly associate publisher for parish market, is now associate marketing director, with responsibility for author support, publicity, and print promotions.

Monica Bokinskie, who has long served in marketing as a graphic designer and manager, is now creative manager, marketing.

Brian Woods, formerly sales and marketing manager, is now sales director with responsibility for all reseller channels and direct sales.

In addition to these changes, Br. Aelred Senna, OSB, has been appointed publisher for Give Us This Day, effective in January 2022. Senna is part of the team that developed Give Us This Day, serving first as associate publisher for marketing and more recently as associate editor. He is stepping into the publisher role as Peter Dwyer, director of the Press and publisher of Give Us This Day, prepares to retire in June 2022.
