BALTIMORE, MD —The Association of Catholic Publishers’ (ACP) members elected four board members with a wide variety of experience in publishing who have a breadth of professional expertise. “The new members reflect the variety of publishing houses among our members—trade, curriculum, music,” noted Therese Brown, ACP executive director.

Members re-elected Karey Circosta (Ave Maria Press), Donna Crilly (Paulist Press) and Wade Wisler (Oregon Catholic Press) and elected new board member Kathleen Sommers-Garcia (Liturgy Training Publications) to three-year terms beginning in February 2012.

Karey Circosta is the Publisher and CEO at Ave Maria Press. Karey has over two decades of sales and marketing leadership experience. She has been with Ave Maria Press since 2003 when she started as the Institutional Marketing Coordinator. She was first responsible for curriculum and parish marketing and later added trade marketing to her responsibilities. She took over the reigns as Publisher just over a year ago and is their first woman publisher in its 155-year history. Prior to Ave Maria Press, she worked in newspaper publishing.

Donna Crilly is a graduate of Douglass College (Rutgers University) and Weston Jesuit School of Theology (now Boston College School of Theology and Ministry). She has been active in Catholic book publishing since the 1980s and worked at St. Bede’s Publications, Paulist Press, Pearson Education, and Liturgy Training Publications, gaining experience in many facets of the industry from production to marketing, but primarily in editorial. Currently, she is senior academic editor at Paulist Press and is interested in helping young women theologians to bring their ideas into print.

Kathleen Sommers Garcia is Strategic Planning and Projects Manager at Liturgy Training Publications. She has worked at LTP for over ten years, primarily in marketing and sales, and assisting in human resources, fulfillment, and facilities. She currently coordinates the development and review of the organization’s strategic plan and of significant inter-departmental projects. She earned a master of arts degree in public relations and advertising from DePaul University and a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and business administration from Carthage College.

Wade Wisler has been Publisher of Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) since April 2017. He started with the company in 2000, working for seven years in Marketing before becoming Manager of Worship Publications, overseeing the publication of OCP’s missals, hymnals, and quarterly liturgy preparation magazines (Editorial). After eight years in that role, he served as Director of Music Development and Outreach before becoming Publisher. Wisler graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English Language and Literature (1989).

The ACP provides opportunities for members to further the interests of the Catholic publishing industry, promote Catholic publishing and reading, and engage those they interact with including retailers, pastoral leaders, individual customers, and staff.
