Former Pflaum Editor-in-Chief Dies

Carl Fischer passed away on January 20, 2021.

Carl was a gifted and imaginative writer who was Executive Editor and then Editor-in-Chief of the Peter Li Education Group for 30 years. Carl oversaw all publications of the Pflaum Publishing Group as well as the company’s many magazines – CATECHIST, Today’s Catholic Teacher, Early Childhood News, Today’s School, School Planning and Management, College Planning and Management, Technology and Learning and others.

Carl was a kind and gentle Renaissance man who was able and comfortable speaking about almost any topic especially Classical music and Opera.  He never used a computer, relying instead on yellow pads and #2 pencils.  He was an integral part of the success of Peter Li Inc and Pflaum.

His wife of more than 50 years, Patricia, was the editor of CATECHIST magazine and survives him.
