What is a "Boot Camp"?

A boot camp is an intensive session to build skills and know-how to help support ministry and leadership on topics ranging from adult faith formation online, best practices for multicultural communities, and implementation of USCCB’s New Evangelization Tool Kit

Thursday, February 27, 9:00 a.m.–12 Noon

At Any Hour: Online Tools for Adult Formation
Tired of spending hours of preparation for an education or formation program that brings out 5 people? We are in the midst of a revolution in communication, but as Church, we’ve barely scratched the surface on learning to use these tools in the work of evangelization, catechesis, and ministry formation. In this session, participants will take the first step into a larger world: discovering some new tools and sharing experiences with fellow ministers.

So That They All May Be One: Best Practices in Shared Parishes
Our dioceses and parish communities grow more and more diverse every day. Pastors, parish teams and ministries see themselves challenged  by this changing reality, while seeking to respond to it in the spirit of the New Evangelization. This workshop provides an understanding of ministry in intercultural settings. The focus on diversity is more than a practical matter; it is grounded on the urgent need to grow in knowledge and to develop the appropriate attitudes and skills for carrying out the Church's mission of evangelization. One cannot adequately preach, teach or form persons without attending to the ways in which Catholic faith and identity become embodied in culture. From the way we communicate to the way the way we relate to one another, culture and intercultural competence greatly affect the process of ecclesial welcoming and integration/inclusion.

Implementation of the New Evangelization Tool Kit
This New Evangelization Toolkit is designed to be a roadmap for dioceses, parishes, schools, and Catholic associations who wish to begin or continue their journey on the New Evangelization; a journey that has as its outcome Jesus Christ and an invitation to Christian discipleship. This boot camp will walk diocesan and parish leaders through the Toolkit, its strategic planning process and present a cohesive picture of how faith, worship and witness are all integral and connected components of the New Evangelization.
